Our Values
Values may be thought of simply as the things we value. However, the values of an organisation may also be thought of as the unseen and underlying aspects of ministry. These are things less obvious than purpose, mission, vision, strategy and plans, yet are highly significant with a critical role in establishing the culture and ethos. Like the services in a building, such as air-conditioning, they are often unnoticed unless something goes wrong. Values are typically discovered when they are inadvertently transgressed.
Values, therefore, are specific to an organisation or ministry. There is no universal list of "correct" values. The values of a church will be subtly different from those of an apostolic family of churches, and different again from those of a teaching ministry. Also the precise expression of values may change over time.
The values of Artios Ministries include the following:
1. |
RELATIONSHIP |
We value relationships and consider them foundational to everything we are and do. We are relational in our approach.
2. |
AUTHORITY |
We value spiritual authority, God's Kingdom rule, expressed in direct and delegated ways. We perceive and position ourselves as those in God's Kingdom, under His government and rule—that is, the Lordship of Christ—with the fundamental calling and response of obedience.
3. |
SOUND DOCTRINE |
We value sound doctrine in all our beliefs and teaching, holding a high view of the Bible as God's word to us. God's word is truth, and that truth sanctifies us and sets us free.
4. |
EQUIPPING |
We value the equipping of the saints (God's people) for the work of ministry, and we value apostles, prophets, evangelists, shepherds and teachers, gifts of people given by Jesus to His Church for this purpose, in order that the Body of Christ may attain to full maturity as each part does its work.
5. |
RESTORATION |
We value the biblical account of New Testament church life as the pattern and benchmark of our Christian lives today, seeking to be restored to God's original intention. We understand that gospel preaching, healings, miracles, signs and wonders, and gifts of the Spirit are still to be part of our experience in the present day. In summary, "as it was in the New Testament, so it is today."
6. |
LEGACY |
We value the richness of our inheritance of teachings and testimony from those of previous generations, and we value awareness of the issues and intentional efforts to ensure in turn the richness of our legacy for the generations to come.
