What is the Content of the Elective Modules?

Pastoral Epistles — A verse-by-verse study of the books 1 and 2 Timothy and Titus, which are packed with practical instruction on Church life and organisation.

Teachings of Christ — Part 1 of this module examines the parables and other teachings of Christ in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke.  Part 2 examines the teachings of Jesus in the Gospel of John.

Pastoral Ministry — In the context of gifting and character, this course combines considerations of shepherding, government, teaching the Word, developing people, organising, and the goals of pastoral ministry with practical insights on message preparation and delivery, baptisms, weddings, funerals, and walking with people through life.

Principles of Leadership — An inspirational and practical course focused on imparting leadership tools, sharpening leadership skills, raising leadership awareness and increasing leadership effectiveness.  The importance of character, integrity and servanthood is stressed.

Evangelism and Missions — This wide-ranging and motivational course includes: the Kingdom of God; the Gospel of the Kingdom; words, works and Kingdom demonstration; understanding the Gospel; practically sharing our faith; answering common objections to the message; the sending of God; and an introduction to world missions.

Healing — This module combines a Biblical overview of the subject of healing with practicalities of healing ministry.  A model is presented to get participants started praying for the sick.  The goal is to produce people who are equipped and (at least beginning to be) experienced in ministering healing.
